In a thrilling celebration of Uganda’s skateboarding culture, the Uganda Skateboard Society proudly presents the Uganda Skater of the Year Award 2023, this prestigious event recognizes and honors outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the vibrant skateboarding community in the country.
The nominees for this year’s coveted award include five exceptionally talented skaters: Bryan, Calvin, Ibra, Jovic, and Wagi. Each nominee has demonstrated remarkable skill, passion, and dedication to the game, contributing to the growth and popularity of skateboarding in Uganda.
BRYAN

Known for his innovative tricks and creative approach to the sport, Bryan has captivated the skateboarding community with his unique style. His ability to seamlessly blend technical prowess with artistic flair has set him apart as a true innovator on the skateboard.
Bryan has also represented Uganda in the World Skateboarding Tour events organized by World Skate and has competed both in Rome and Sharja in the UAE this very year.
CALVIN

Calvin, a fearless skater, has been pushing the boundaries of what is possible on a skateboard. His daring stunts and commitment to attempting new, challenging tricks have inspired many aspiring skaters to break free from their comfort zones and pursue their passion for skateboarding with unmatched determination.

WAGI

At a young age, Wagi has already established himself as a prodigy in the skateboarding scene besides breaking his right tibia in November.
His natural talent, enthusiasm, and quick progression have caught the attention of both seasoned skaters and enthusiasts alike. Wagi represents the promising future of Ugandan skateboarding.
JOVIC

Jovic is one of the most technical skaters we are having in Uganda at the moment. His technicality in tricks have earned him a reputation as a virtuoso on the skateboard.
His dedication to mastering the fundamentals of the game has set a high standard for aspiring skaters, making him a role model for those who strive for excellence in every aspect of skateboarding.
IBRA

Ibra’s nomination for Skater of the Year is well-deserved, considering his consistency, creativity, and international success.
His journey from the Grand Skate Tour debut in Moscow to the nomination spotlight is a testament to his dedication, skill, and passion for the art of skateboarding.
